Papers of Gilbert Wilkinson consist of manuscript copybook of business letters written from Poughkeepsie to George P. Oakley, William A. Moore, Joseph Wilkinson, Theophilus Nelson, and others, 1830-1832, concerning public monies for care of the poor in Dutchess County, school monies, tax collecting, the Bank of Poughkeepsie, personal financial affairs, ferry business and protective laws, general business conditions, political issues between Clay and Jackson supporters, and family news; and two small memoranda books concerning weather and other events, 1834-1840. Papers of Robert Wilkinson consist of three receipt and memoranda books, 1834-1849, concerning the estate of Dency Potter, the weather, and other events. Papers of William Wilkinson consist of an account book regarding his legal business, 1861-1864, and a record book of important events, primarily Civil War news, 1863-1864.
